this is the partner cap pikachu!! my longest hunt to date at 3335 encounters, but I got him!! most of the capped pikachus can't be shiny, but when they programmed this one they accidentally checked Ash's shiny trainer value instead of the player's. he doesn't look any different but he still has the shiny sparkles. so excited to have this one-of-a-kind shiny!! ✨️ 55.71% odds!!

I was chaining pichus, mentally preparing myself for the arduous task of raising its happiness so I could eventually get an alolan raichu, when a 13% shiny Pikachu appeared out of nowhere! he was so vibrant, I forgot just how orange shiny pikachu is! and on an sos chain as low as 62 too! I couldn't believe my eyes! so excited to have yet another alolan form (also that alolan evolution music slaps ~)! 15.51%

what the actual fuck?? maybe this is to make up for all my absurdly back luck in this game recently, but another shiny before best odds?? this was even 2 encounters before the last one! that means a new record for shortest sos chain! i thought this hunt might be annoying, but you can actually encounter sandshrew outside of the snow before it learns hail, so it wasn't nearly as bad as i feared. hopefully the next one will be just as kind! 2.67% chance?!?

once again, another quick sos hunt! i'm so grateful, the struggle has been so real lately... caught as a sandshrew and evolved into sandslash. i'm so excited to be done with another alolan line for my living dex, and all on the same day too! (tho my game says it was 1/3, since i forgot to change the clock for the end of daylight savings, and the shiny showed up around 11:40p...) 22.05% odds!!

holy shit???? i was getting pretty bored of my pumpkaboo hunt (which is going wayyy over odds...), so i decided to break it up with another nighttime exclusive hunt -- cleffa. i figured i'd get a ton of phases but i want basically all the shinies in zone 19 so i don't mind too much and low and behold, my first shiny is a shalpha clefairy??? so excited to be able to use a shalpha mega clefable now!! roughly 12 spawns per fast travel reset...? so about 1992 'mons seen, or 38.52% odds!!

this week, there are a bunch of special outbreaks with increased shiny odds to celebrate the raids for the shiny treasures of ruin 'mons. right now the special raid is for shiny wo-chien, so the outbreaks are for grass pokemon. oddish is the one for the blueberry terrarium, so i figured it was a good time to finish off the line for my living dex since I only have a single oddish these special mass outbreaks have 1/200 odds at baseline, 1/174 after 60 knockouts ~ despite these amazing odds, this little oddish did not want to show up. half an h

found on a chain of 34 (search level 660), with a 4.33% chaance of being shiny! i spent almost 5 hours yesterday trying to get this bug to shine to no avail, but today's mirage island ALSO had venomoth so i took it as a sign to continue. so excited to have this gorgeous blue boy!

found on a chain of 40!! this hunt was a little stressful. the digletts kept using mudslap and lowering my accuracy, and then they'd use bulldoze or magnitude and kill each other..... when the shiny popped up, absol had one accuracy drop already and I was so scared I'd miss my attack on the other diglett and it'd kill the shiny. luckily, I knocked the other mon out immediately and caught the diglett in the next ball evolved into alolan dugtrio to finish the line in my dex!! 1/273 are the best odds, and I was only there for like 10 encounters.
